4th FIDE World Chess Championships for People with Disabilities

Seminar for obtaining the title “FIDE-Arbiter“

 

The FIDE Commission for the Disabled and the ZMDI Schachfestival Dresden e.V. are holding the first seminar for acquiring the title “FIDE-Arbiter“ with the additional specialization “Tournaments for disabled people“ according to the FIDE regulations.

The training course will be held in German (if needed also in English and sign language) and is furthermore aimed at giving disabled players and cargivers the opportunity to obtain the title “FIDE-Arbiter”. The course will take place at the same time as the World Championship for Disabled. The theoretical parts of the seminar will be held after the tournament rounds. The number of participants is limited to 20.

The participation fee includes the seminar fee as well as the fee for the exam. Payment will be due after being approved for the course to the bank account of the ZMDI Schachfestival Dresden e.V.

Each participant has to pay for his travel expenses himself. Accomodations can be booked additionally at a special chess fare. Dinner costs 20,00 € per person including mineral water. The hotel bill has to be paid upon arrival at the hotel reception.

The complete registrations have to include: last name, first name, (for people with disabilities the type of disability), date of birth, address, federation, FIDE-ID number, passport number (for VISA purposes), language knowledge and already existing arbiter licenses.

The seminar covers the following topics: FIDE-player titles, Rating regulations, FIDE-Tournament-Rules, Tie-Break-Rules, pairing regulations for Swiss System-Tournaments, handling of electronic chess clocks and of course the new „Laws of Chess“. Attending the seminar will also be counted as advanced training in terms of the DSB general guidelines for arbiter schooling.
